Foundation

With the movement beginning in the 1990s to commemorate the National Debt Redemption Movement Korea’s first national donation movement and to succeed and develop its patriotic spirit, the National Debt Redemption Movement Standing Committee was assembled in 1997 (90th anniversary of the National Debt Redemption Movement ). This later developed into the National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Association in 2002.

In 2007 (100th anniversary of the National Debt Redemption Movement ), the decision was made to erect the National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Mus eum in order to continue the national salvation mentality and to imbue national patriotic thought, thereby realizing a centripetal guiding principle for developing the state society. In October 2010, with the help of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, the City of Daegu, and public fundraising, the National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Museum opened in the National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Park. The museum exhibits historical artifacts, photos, and visual and audio data. It serves as a place of historical learning for the National Debt Redemption Movement .

Main enterprises of 2016

The National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Association, composed of around 60 directors and 800 members, is advancing memorial enterprises, such as the investigation, collection, discovery, and research of data, publication of bulletins and books, and the hosting of cultural events about the National Debt Redemption Movement . In particular, in 2016, the project to register the National Debt Redemption Movement Collection on the UNESCO Memory of the World is being actively pursued.

Formation of the Promotion Council: The Promotion Council was assembled to manage the systematic research and collection of the National Debt Redemption Movement , and is also responsible for the UNESCO Memory of the World registration.

Academic conference: the procurement of undiscovered materials around the nation, and the assignment of meaning and objectivity through expert consultation: Academic conference on regional studies Special lecture with an expert guest speaker International seminar on foreign loans
