The National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Association verified these materials with the members of the Cultural Properties Committee of the Cultural Heritage Administration, and the collection is currently being stored by the National Debt Redemption Movement Memorial Museum.
Within the National Debt Redemption Movement collection, around 10,000 documents from Goryeong-gun, Gyeongsangbukdo-Province, in the possession of the Seongsan Lee family's Hongwa house, were donated to the Korean Studies Advancement Center in 2013 for research and use by future generations.
A total of 52 records from Goryeong-gun in the National Debt Redemption Movement include letters and official documents delivered to and from Hongwa Lee Doo-hoon a representative independence fighter and a Confucian scholar of the region. The documents are related to the National Debt Redemption Movement, a donors roster and the amounts donated (by town) in Goryeong-gun, as well as donation receipts.
The Goryeong-gun the National Debt Redemption Movement collection is part of key data that made an in-depth analysis on the development and state of the National Debt Redemption Movement by region possible. This collection removed the previous limitation of relying on secondary sources, such as newspaper articles, owing to the lack of primary sources.
